Well, we have recently celebrated Carson's first birthday!! I cannot believe that he is already 1! The year has flown by. We are settled in Texas. I LOVE my job! I had a crazy start- getting moved to a new school after I had fixed up one room- but it was a huge blessing! My principal is awesome, he let me leave early on Carson's birthday (which was on the first week of school). Victor just found out that he got a job at Fielder road baptist church in Arlington. He starts monday and will be a student/childrens minister for 5th and 6th grade. Carson has started daycare. He has Ashlynn's teacher from last year, which we were very excited about. His first week was a little rough. He had a lot of adjusting to do- being away form mommy and daddy and only getting one nap a day. Then Gran Gran and Big Daddy came to visit and stayed for 12 days!!! So, this week was his second week of school. We were a little surprised but, he had a really good week! He still cries when Victor drops him off in the morning but, they say not for long.

Well, we have made it to Fort Worth, TX. We are getting settled and LOVE being so close to Aunt Lauren, Uncle Jason and especially Ashlynn. Ashlynn is so crazy, Carson just loves her. We see her just about everyday. She even spent one night with us, it was Carson's first sleepover company! Since we have been in Texas, Carson has started crawling and pulling up on everything. Once he pulls up he will stand on his own for a few seconds. It is so cute, you can tell he is so proud of himself. Last week we went to Arkansas for the fourth of July. We stayed at Momadot and Grandaddy's and had a great time. We got to meet the new addition to our family, Anamarie. This is my cousin's (Katie) second little girl. She is so sweet and perfect! Momadot enjoyed every second we were there I believe, I don't think she ever quit smiling. She is doing well, but gets tired easily. This past week she had her last round of chemo and is having a cat scan tomorrow to see how everything is going. Please be praying for her. We had a wonderful visit and of course it ended with tears. I don't think I have ever left Momadots' without crying. There are just so many happy memories there. I hope Carson has as much fun at his grandparents! Also, while we were in Arkansas Carson advanced to a big boy seat. He now faces the front in his car seat and absolutely loves it.
Next week we will be heading back to Mississippi to drop off Carson. Then Victor and I will be heading out with a team from Trinity to India. I am excited yet nervous about this adventure. I can't wait to see what God has in store for us. I learned good news and bad news about the trip today. Bad news- lots of leeches and scorpions-eek! good news- I will be able to call and talk to Carson EVERYDAY!! WHOOHOO! Please be in pray for this trip too. Pray against spiritual warfare and that we will have a mind of Christ.Comments:Add a comment:

Goodness! We have been sooo busy. God is really blessing our family and confirming the direction we are headed. We sold our house in 6 days, closed on my last day of work, and are now living with Victor's parents. We were all able to go to High School camp last week in Myrtle Beach. We had a great time. Carson loves the beach! He had the best time playing in the sand and splashing in the water. He is getting so big, so fast! Last night was Victor's last night at the church. He gave his last talk and turned in his keys. It was a sad, but fun night. After the service we had ice-cream cake. We are really going to miss the friends we have made there. We also got our housing assignment for seminary and Carson got a spot at the daycare. We move in the June 20! We can't wait to be near Aunt Lauren, Uncle Jason, Ashlynn, and Baby Kellis. It's kinda crazy that Carson won't be the baby anymore! He is going to love being near his cousins. We are so excited about what God is doing in our lives please continue to pray for our family as we are moving and transitioning into this new part of our Christian journey.
Oh yeah, also pray for Victor and I we are going to be going to India the middle of July with a team from Trinity. We are super excited about what God is going to do there. Pray for acceptance and for the relationships we will be making. I know we will really be reaching out to the children there.Comments:Add a comment:

We had an adventurous and fun Spring Break. It all started on Friday afternoon (March 7). I got off early due to the snow moving quickly (more quickly than I realized) into town. Carson and I left around 2:30 headed to Little Rock, Ar. We had a 7:00 flight going to Fort Worth, Tx to visit Lauren, Jason, and Ashlynn. After about two hours of driving around 30-40 mph, I had just about made it to Brinkley, Ar when traffic came to a DEAD STOP! Carson and I were stuck in traffic for TWO hours. Carson was so good, mom- not so good! I got my flight changed and at about 7:00 we started moving again and were able to get off in Wheatley, Ar and spent the night. It was not the best situation, but I was thankful to be off the road, warm, and safe (although I didn't feel too safe). We had a good night and were up and on the road by 6:30 the next morning. I was determined not to miss another flight. We did't have any trouble getting to Little Rock and finally arrived in Texas around 12:00. We ate and I got cleaned up then, we headed over to a birthday party. That night we went shopping because Ashlynn's jeans were too tight!
On Sunday, we went to church close to an hour late. It would be nice to say we forgot about the time change but, we didn't. We ate Taco Bueno for lunch, played outside(I painted Ashlynn's nails and toes and Lauren attempted to cut Jason's hair :) and then we headed back to church. The students had a fellowship after church so we stayed for that and ate hot dogs (my fav.!!).
Monday morning I kept Ashlynn and Carson while Jason was at a meeting. Then he took Ashlynn to daycare and I cleaned a little bit. The house was messy because Lauren has been SO sick with this pregancy. Monday night we were planning to meet Victor and our students in Arlington at the Cheesecake Factory but, right before we were about to leave we realized that they were going to the Mall in Plano (about an hour away). At the last minute we decided to go anyway. It was a fun ride- we stopped for directions twice! We finally made it there and both had our OWN huge piece of cheesecake. It was great!
On Tuesday, I felt brave and kept Ashlynn and Carson. We ate lunch with Lauren and then played at the modern park at her work. That afternoon we played outside and Jason grilled hamburgers.
On Wednesday, Carson, Ashlynn, and I met Victor and the students at Six Flags. Ashlynn had a blast. She was a little timid about the rides at first, but she did end up riding a few. She even asked to ride on one of the rides. I think the log ride was her favorite though, she loves the water! Carson rode on his first ride, the old cars. He'll be ready for the roller coasters next time! That night Lauren met us in Arlington and we ate dinner at El Fenix.
On Thursday, Carson and I had a much smoother day of travel. Pelf took us to the airport and we met up with Sara, Emma and Ty Phillips. Emma sat by Carson on the plane ride. She was a lot of help. Victor met us in Little Rock, AR. We stayed in LR with Aunt Sande for a few days. I was actually able to stay two nights with MommaDot at the hospital. I really enjoyed that time.
Finally, on Saturday afternoon Victor, Carson, and I headed home. We went to BFG Sunday morning but, left early because Carson's bottle leaked on the way to church. Victor had a great idea for us to go to the mall in Collierville. It was a beautiful day to be outside. That afternoon Gran Gran came to visit. It was a busy but fun Spring Break!Comments:Add a comment:

Goodness, the time is flying by! Carson went last Friday for his six month check up and shots. He is doing fine and getting soo big. We have started him on food. We are actually giving him real mashed vegetables (an idea I got from Lauren). He loves everything we've given him, even beets! This past weekend was my first weekend away from Carson. Momadot and Grandad have both been in the hospital. Grandad is home now, but they still are not sure what is wrong with Momadot. Please be praying for them and my family.
Next week, I am out for Spring Break! Carson and I are going to Texas to visit Lauren, Jason, and Ashlynn. I've been told that Ashlynn wants chocolate (she loved the chocolate from Valentine's Day)!! Victor is going on a mission trip with our student ministry. We stay so busy, but are so blessed. God has really been great to us!Comments:Add a comment:

Carson had a big Christmas this year. We celebrated in Pearl two weeks before Christmas and then we went to Winter Park, Colorado with Victor's family for Christmas break. We had a great time. Carson was soo good, even though he slept in a closet! He loved the snow and cold weather. He enjoyed playing with the paper, ribbons, and tissue paper from his presents. Carson has also started teething. Just when I thought I had everything figured out... We have had a few rough days, but he is doing pretty good. Hopefully, we will have a couple of teeth soon. Carson had his four month check-up a few weeks ago. He is doing great. This past Saturday we started him on cereal. he is growing so fast!

We have been busy the past few weeks. We celebrated Papaw Carson's 90th birthday and Carson had his first Thanksgiving. We went to Momadot's for Thanksgiving. This was Carsons first trip to the farm. He got to play with Ashlynn, Jennifer, Brent, Anna, and Kara. Carson has also had a cold. Hopefully his little nose will clear up soon.

Carson went to the doctor today for his two month check-up and SHOTS! I don't know who cried more Carson or me. I started crying when they gave him the oral medicine and I didn't dare watch them give him the shots. He seems to be doing well, though. So far no reactions! He now weighs 12 lbs. 11.5 oz. and is 24 in long. He is getting so big. Carson is sleeping through the night! He usually sleeps for about 7 to 8 hours. He started this about two weeks ago right before I started back to work. Perfect timing!

Carson made his first road trip this past week. He traveled well. We did have to make lots of stops for him to eat. We went to Pearl and Mobile. While in Pearl he met Papaw Carson, Uncle Anthony and Aunt Angie, Ashley and Leah. He also attended his first Canton Flea Market. He enjoyed the Flea Market while we were there, but that night he let mommy know that boys DO NOT go shopping all day long! Saturday we went down to Mobile. He met his Grandpa and my Grandma. Lauren, Jason and Ashlynn were there too. Ashlynn actually acknowledged Carson this time. She gave him lots of hugs and kisses. It was too sweet.

Today Carson is one month old! We celebrated by going to the park and having a picnic. Carson loved it (even though he slept most the time)!
This month has gone by so fast. He is changing so much and becoming alot more active and aware of his surroundings. He loves to just lie on his back and look at everything. Carson is also beginning to make different cooing sounds, he has the sweetest little voice.Comments:Add a comment:
